Google Maps - Travels Around China
In 2011, my family and I traveled to China for a homeland tour. It was
considered a 'homeland tour' because it was the first trip back to China for our 2 children who were adopted from China in 2002 and 2003. It was an amazing trip visiting many cultural, historic, and scenic sites scattered throughout China. Some of these locations are considered World Heritage Sites. We started in Beijing, the capital city, then on to Xi'An (Shaanxi province), Chengdu (Sichuan province), Guilin (Li River in Guangxi province), Longsheng Rice Terraces (Guangxi province), Changsha and Xiangyin (Hunan province), and Wuhan (Hubei province). |
Since this trip was an incredible learning experience for your family, we wanted to share a bit about the wonders of this magnificent country.
The Google map below depicts the route we took throughout China and indicates many of the locations we visited. You can click on the red pins on the map to display information about each location including its significance and view photos taken at that location. Also, you can zoom in for a closer look and switch to Satellite view or Google Earth view for a different perspective on each location. |
